Research Overview
Selank is a synthetic analogue of the immunomodulatory peptide tuftsin (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg), extended with additional amino acids to increase stability. It has been studied in Russian neurological research for several decades.
Research in animal models has examined Selank’s interactions with GABAergic and serotonergic systems, its effects on enkephalin metabolism and anxiety-like behavior in rodent models, and its immunomodulatory properties. It has been used in clinical research settings in Russia.
